When Telemundo CH-52 (KVEA) acquired Los Angeles station, KWHY, their operations were then integrated into the local Telemundo facility, located in Glendale, CA. The move consisted of upgrading from a tape based analog architecture to an all-digital server based technology. The KWHY project was implemented in conjunction with the KVEA router and master control upgrades. KVEA/KWHY installation included a combined “News Solution” system shared by the two stations which consisted of six non-linear edit bays (Vibrint) connected via fiber channel and Ethernet to ingest and play out servers (Profile XP’s). Teklogic provided all systems design, documentation, equipment recommendations, equipment and wiring installation, commissioning, and on-air support services. The transition was successfully completed without any downtime of either station.
